Credit counselors, bankruptcy attorneys, loan officers, car dealers and others tell story after story of individuals who are drowning in debt. These people complain bitterly that they would have never ever found themselves in the mess they are in, if only someone had bothered to warn them of the potential problems and educate them in the ways of proper financial management. One of the main missions of CCCS is EDUCATION In order to live up to our mission, we are happy to provide FREE of charge, a credit education seminar for civic organizations, church and neighborhood groups, high school and college students, employers of area businesses and your group. We use a power point presentation to teach budgeting, smart money habits, saving plans, understanding how credit works. We discuss how to get your free credit report annually and the importance of maintaining a good credit score. How to guard against identity theft, which are the best credit cards to use are covered in a workshop. We are happy to tailor a seminar to cover the credit issues you have. Each participant in the workshop will receive educational materials and valuable information to make them savvy consumers. Financially troubled employees are absent more than others and two-thirds of employees deal with financial matters at work. “It's smart business to provide employees access to credit education information that enables them to improve their financial behaviors and well-being because financially well employees are the employer's very best employees.” Professor Thomas Garmen, Virginia Tech University. Most schools do not require money management courses for their students to graduate. Since students are not learning these important life skills in school, many young people graduate without the skills they need to be financially independent, responsible and successful adults. CCCS would like to provide this education. To schedule a speaker at your meeting or a credit education seminar, call (912) 961-2227 or 800-821-4040. |
